COUSE OVERVIEW
The WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines is designed for those who are new to wine or looking to build a solid foundation in wine knowledge. This well-structured course is ideal for individuals working in retail or gastronomy who wish to gain a thorough understanding of different wine styles and types, especially when wine is part of a broader beverage selection. It also serves as an excellent starting point for wine enthusiasts aiming to deepen their expertise.
By the end of this course, you’ll have a clear grasp of essential viticultural concepts, be able to identify major wine styles and grape varieties, and understand how to store and serve wine properly. This will empower you to confidently address customer inquiries and make informed recommendations.
The course features engaging content and focuses on specific wine examples, including a tasting of nine different quality wines, representing popular grape varieties. The final assessment will be a multiple-choice exam in German, conducted on the same day as the course. Successful participants will be awarded an official certificate from WSET® in London.

DURATION
WSET® Level 1 Wines includes a minimum study time of:
- 6 hours of instruction (1 course-day)
EXAM AND CERTIFICATE
The exam (multiple-choice test, 30 questions, 45 minutes) is conducted in English on the same day, immediately following the course. After passing the exam, participants will receive the internationally recognized WSET® original certificate in German.
The exam results are typically provided by WSET® in London about four weeks after the exam date. The certificates are sent to us approximately 3-4 months after the exam date. We will forward them as soon as possible.

REGISTRATION
Registration and payment for the course must be completed at least 12 working days before the course starts.
