ABOUT THE COURSE:
The WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines includes an in-depth look at the world of wine. “What’s on the label” – an introduction to the basics of the main grape varieties, wine styles and their growing regions worldwide. Over 20 grape varieties and more than 70 growing regions are covered in the course.
The tasting and evaluation of wines according to the WSET® tasting scheme (SAT) will expand the gained knowledge with relevant practical examples.
The whole course is underpinned by the teaching of essential vocabulary for a competent handling of the acquired knowledge.
After successfully passing the course, each participant will receive a WSET® certificate and a pin to prove their acquired qualification.
Students will become confident tasters, with the ability to describe and compare the styles of wines made from key international and regional grape varieties. They will learn how to analyse wine labels from the world’s major wine producing regions, and how to store, serve, taste and pair wines to get the best out of every glass.
The WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines is the perfect wine course for beginners who want to explore a wide spectrum of grape varieties and wine styles, as well as for those who want to build on knowledge gained at WSET® Level 1 Wines.

STUDY GOALS
- Tasting wine according to the WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT) scheme
- Acquiring a basic knowledge of environmental factors, grape growing, winemaking and maturation options and
- how they influence the style and quality of wines
- Knowing the key grape varieties and their regional significance across more than 70 geographical indications around the world
- The key labelling terms used to indicate origin, style and quality
- Principles and procedures for the storage and service of wine
- Principles of food and wine pairing

DURATION
WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines includes a minimum study time of:
- 16 teaching hours
- 11 hours of self-study
- 60 minutes of examination
EXAMINATION AND CERTIFICATE
The examination (multiple-choice test of 50 questions with 60 minutes examination time) takes place in English. After passing the exam, participants receive the internationally recognized certificate WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines.

WSET® in London usually transmits the results of the exam four weeks after the exam date. The certificates will be sent to us by WSET® approximately 3-4 months after the exam date. We will forward them as soon as possible.
